Jai...Ho

After lots of hype from TV, media, newspapers and Signboards, I finally watched the movie which has won 8 Oscars & 4 Golden Globe awards for this year ’09. Ya I am talking about the movie “Slumdog Millionaire” which was directed by a British director Danny Boyle and music composed by our renowned musician A.R.Rehman (INDIA) of Roja & Bombay fame.

Well, going further in my confab, I would just like to say the movie is ok but not too good as I anticipated. In terms of music, I think Rehman has given much much better music which has given him a platform and which has made better place in history of the music world than this one!! (Sorry if I am hurting someone’s feeling on Rehman). But one point I would like to add here is that Rehaman deserves this prestigious award for his hard workmanship and continuous efforts he has put through to bring and give better and more melodious music to the audience from past –a- decade than any other music directors did. Congratulations Rehaman Sir.

Now coming to the other panoramas of the movie I felt little bad in few scenes the way Danny has envisioned India and projected in his movie, scenes like when the American come to Visit washer man’s ghat in their Mercedes, then the local’ers removing the parts of their car and selling them and the Guy called Jammal tells them this is real INDIA not the TAJ MAHAL and the woman giving him a Dollar note and saying “This is what real America my son”, I believe every county has its flaws in their own nose but they never project them out, this exactly can be known when a individual goes to that particular country, is that not many INDIAN’s getting killed day – by – day in those lands for the sake of nobody? Pity on them.

Now, moving to the other frame of the movie……Hmmm, the theme….Yes the theme of the movie, I liked it very much. The concept of questions appearing on the computer screen matches with his real life situation of the character played and he thinks where that question he faced in his real life and answers them correctly. Excellent Danny.

Now before concluding my writings I would like to add two points which I liked the most in the movie, the love of Jammal to Latika I can say it’s a tribute & purified love towards her, in spite of his hard-times, fighting for his life to survive and still having a ray of hope in his mind that he will find her and make his destiny. He finds her in many different situations from harlot’s land (Red light Bombay) to his own brother Salim basking her to the concubine of the local mafia don (Mahesh Manjrekar), but still his love is purified and true and still he accepts her. This point has really shaken me and I felt for a minute that true love is eternal & really powerful then any other materialist things which are present in this world and if one finds his own then no super – power can separate their happiness!! And Second point is, hard work always prevails.

Jai……Ho!!
